The newest boutique to the Bermudian fashion scene opened its doors last week; Lovit Boutique, run by Jenia Thompson, originally started out as an internet only fashion retailer however the talented entrepreneur decided that the time was right to finally expand and open a physical store.
Thompson, who is also the group banking financial controller at the global bank HSBC, has managed to secure some well known and established fashion lines to sell in the outlet including LAMB by Gwen Stefani, Black Halo, Nicole Richie’s line House of Harlow and CC Skye. The whole idea of Lovit, according to the 30 year old owner, is to provide celebrity endorsed and manufactured fashion lines without the incredible price tag that often becomes associated with them.
Indeed, Jenia Thompson puts the success of the store down to mixing and getting advice from the right people and admits that it was an arduous journey from setting up the online store 2 years ago to having an actual shop in the high street. Furthermore, she said that opening a new store in the middle of an economic downturn doesn’t faze her in the slightest and that she is doubly determined to make the boutique a raving success.
While many consumers may be pinching their spending habits as of late, Thompsons revealed that, for women, the desire to shop is still there and if they can find an outlet that provides some top quality labels and designs at a affordable price then there should be no problems for Lovit Boutique.
